CAR 2 CAR Communication Consortium

In the CAR 2 CAR Communication Consortium, leading European and international vehicles manufacturers, equipment suppliers, engineering companies, road operators and research institutions join forces for saving lives by research and development of C-ITS solutions facilitating to overcome road accidents (vision zero). This goes hand in hand with supporting highest safety level at improved traffic efficiency anywhere, anytime at lowest costs to the end user and the environment. Reaching the goal requires powerful, reliable, robust and mature safety related solutions. Furthermore, a seamless evolution path is required for enabling spectrum efficiency, needed functionalities and technologies driven by innovations and competition while safeguarding already taken investments in vehicles and road infrastructure.

CEN (Technical Committee 278 for ITS)

The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) is a public standards organization whose mission is to foster the economy of the European Union (EU) in global trading, the welfare of European citizens and the environment by providing an efficient infrastructure to interested parties for the development, maintenance and distribution of coherent sets of standards and specifications.

The Technical Committee 278 for ITS develops standards in the field of telematics to be applied to road traffic and transport, including those elements that need technical harmonization for intermodal operation in the case of other means of transport.

C-ITS Point of Contact (European Commission)

The C-ITS Point of Contact (CPOC) is established by the European Commission to support the deployment of C-ITS services within the European Union C-ITS Security Credential Management System (EU CCMS).

ITS America
